Last Friday, 04 October 2013 was Children's Day school holiday so I bought boy to Swensen's to have his favourite Fishy Chippy and Ice Cream. It was a fun day where we enjoy wonderful lunch and shopping trip around the malls to get some loot for ourselves. Also secondly my aim to visit Swensen's was to try out their Spanking New Dishes recommended by Singapore bloggers.

4 New Dishes recommended by Singapore Leading Bloggers
Swensen's has introduced four Spanking New Dishes across all outlets in Singapore for a limited period from 01 September to 31 October 2013. And these four dishes are recommended by Singapore Leading Bloggers such as Ladyironchef, DanielFoodDiary, Camemberu and Keropkman. After reading feedback from friends who tried these dishes over at IG (Instagram), I decided to settle my lunch with Daniel's recommended dish; "Spiced Maple Chicken Waffle" because mainly I am a waffle fans.

Instead of main course, my boy prefer his usual kid's meal - Fishy Chippy (SG$9.50++) which serve together with a cup of Apple Juice. So far the fish cutlet that we ordered was always very crispy and it is also not oily as compared to some other fried food.

With additional top-up to the Main Course, I get to enjoy additional soup of day which I always look forward to plus a complimentary hot/cold beverage.

Spiced Maple Chicken Waffle
[MUST TRY] For main course, I ordered the "Spiced Maple Chicken Waffle" from their blogger's recommendation menu. Indeed it was a worth trying dish with its well-balanced taste of sweet and savory (hint of spiciness) in one plate. The waffle has a crispy outer layer and yet soft texture inside when bite and it goes well with the accompany butter cream.

My way of eating this dish was to spread a thin layer of butter cream on the waffle then top it with a piece of maple syrup coated chicken. It's sooooo good that you have to try it on your own to experience the taste.

With their Weekday Lunch Treat promotion (11am - 2.00pm) we also get to choose a complimentary items such as Free Side, Free Sundae or Free Drink with any order of food item (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, baked rice, pasta and main course) .  Above is the Milo Sundae that my boy requested instead of the usual one with vanilla ice cream.
